Zaatar Recipe: Kale-Zaatar Chips

This is a simple healthy Kale snake recipe and another great example of the many culinary uses of Zaatar!  You may now ask what is Zaatar? It is a Mediterranean spice mix with mainstay ingredients (if premium brand) of wild thyme (native to Middle East region), sumac, and sesame seeds. Za'atar as dip with olive oil is a snake on its own but is also a great way to add a delicious Mediterranean flair to just about any dish. Zaatar even offers health benefits!

If you’ve never tried cooking with zaatar before, this recipe is the perfect excuse to buy some! It’s important, however, to choose a reputable zaatar brand that is honest about its ingredients with no unknown fillings and substitutes.

ingredients
1/2 bunch kale
1 tablespoon of olive oil or vegetable oil 
1-2 tablespoon of zaatar to sprinkle on kale

directions:
1- adjust the oven rack to the middle position and heat the oven to 350 degrees.
2- wash the kale and try to get read of the water as much as you can. remove the hard steam. tear the kale into desire size (a bite size) mix with oil.

2- spread the kale on baking sheet lined with aluminum foil (leave some space to help evaporate the water). sprinkle zaatar on every piece. bake for 10 minute or until hard but not brown.
